This photo illustrates the sleeve modifications that I made to the Christine Jonson # 519 Swing Jacket pattern
that I discussed in the previous post.In red are the edges of the original #519 Swing Jacket sleeve pattern at the underarm area. The rest of the pattern piece is hidden under the black sleeve pattern.
In solid black is the first modification that I made, keeping the sleeve head area relatively flat but trimming in the underarm area of the sleeve. I use this sleeve shape mainly for knits.
In dotted white is the second modification I made for a regular set in sleeve. I use this shape mainly for wovens.
Of course there are corresponding changes to the armhole for each sleeve shape.
I hope this photo clarifies what I was discussing in my previous post about the sleeve shape modification that I made.
For the raisin and silver jacket, I used the set-in sleeve shape.

Thank you so much for all this information. I used some of it to cut out the houndstooth check coat I'm making for my daughter.
