Lightweight Tunic and Leggings
Butterick 4920 and Kwik Sew 3463
While erranding a while back, I snapped up a pretty piece of semi-sheer crinkle knit at a nearby fabric shop, House of Fabrics in North Asheville. (What? Fabric shop visits are not part of routine erranding? That's not what I tell my DH!)
I also bought some deep chocolate St. John's doubleknit for leggings to complete the ensemble.
Both new pieces worked fine with the mocha lace top that I recently finished.
Here's the result:
For the top, Butterick 4920:
For the leggings, Kwik Sew 3463:
This was one of those easy-peasy projects, coming together in a couple of hours.
The knit for the leggings is marvelous, good body and good recovery. I hope the doubleknit does not pill like some of the other leggings I've made in the past. I'm trusting that the St. John's name means that it's a better quality and will last more than a season.
I'm glad I made the top out of a semi-sheer fabric. There's a lot of fabric folding down the front of the body and might add too much thickness to the silhouette in a more solid knit. This one is sort of floaty and works fine.
I'll look forward to wearing this outfit when the weather warms up a bit.

The crinkle knit goes beautifully with the lace--what luck to happen across it while running errands! Lovely outfit Kathryn
Love this combo - especially since you incorporated that amazing lace tank top!
Love the fabric combo. I didn't know about House of Fabric; I only ever go to Waechter's when we go to Asheville. I'll have to remember to go there on our next visit. Oh, and my dh expects some fabric shopping when we are in Asheville.
The whole things looks so great together. Love it!
Stunning fabric choices and a beautiful ensemble.
A really beautiful ensemble, Kathryn!
Love the fabric - blue and brown is always smart. Perfect style for the fabric.
Beautiful.
these pieces work so well together - love the brown and blue combo
Love it! Your version is so much prettier than the pattern envelope -- it wouldn't have caught my eye at all, but after seeing your version I leave to try it!
