A Layer for the EZ Breezy Summer Top
It's so much fun to finish a knitted garment in a day. Well, 2 half days, to be precise. Even so, how great is that?
I finished my Ripple Vest that goes over the EZ Breezy Summer Top that I made last week.
Before Washing and Blocking
After Washing and Blocking:
With washing in Ivory Snow on the Handwash cycle of my machine, and drying to damp on the Low Heat setting of my dryer and blocking overnight, it's obvious that the only place the vest shrunk was in the front, not the back. This is because, due to the origami-like nature of vest assembly, the front is on the lengthwise grain while the back is on the crossgrain. So the piece shrunk lengthwise about 15% (just as predicted in the pattern instructions) and did not shrink at all on the crossgrain.

I think I'm beginning to get the hang of this machine knitting thing! (smile)
