Son of Shawl
Today is really a sewing day (hopefully), but I couldn't resist posting about my second weaving project, called Son of Shawl. I call it that because this shawl has more "hair" than the original one (I supplemented the chenille from the first shawl with a fuzzy yarn), sort of like some father/son combos I know. I love Son of Shawl as much as I love Shawl. It was so much fun to make.
When a friend saw my first weaving project, the chenille shawl, she wanted one just like it. I didn't have enough leftover yarn to make an identical one, but I did have some fluffy yarn that I could throw in to stretch the fabric out to shawl size. I also added some subtle striping ribbon in the warp. I also made it narrower and longer than my first shawl.
So with no further ado, here's Son of Shawl

Yarns used:
Warp:
Velvet Touch 100% Nylon
Prism Equinox rayon/nylon/wool
Weft:
Classic Elite Illusion cotton/rayon/poly chenille
The Great Adirondack Co Fluff rayon yarn
This shawl is just as pretty as the first one was, to my eye, anyway. I hope my friend likes it!

Another beautiful shawl!
Absolutely gorgeous.
You have inspired me to look into weaving. Got the price of the 32" loom and stand so am saving some of my sewing money to purchase one.

Lucky friend!
This is so lovely. I have always wanted to weave. Your loom is quite nice and such a great size.
I've always been curious about weaving. The colors you have used are absolutely delicious!
That is very pretty. The colors are beautiful!!
It's certainly as good as the first one I am sure it won't be long before you weave some fabric to turn into a jacket or something.
Beautiful - LOVE the combination of colors!
