Burp Cloths and Bibs:
accessorizing a newborn

A newborn baby grand daughter has switched up my sewing game to some embroidery.  The new mom's request: burp cloths and baby bibs for her nursing baby.

GrandMama to the rescue:
  • Janome 500e embroidery machine
  • Embroidery files from www.urbanthreads.com or purchasedfrom Etsy
  • Embroidery blank burp cloths from www.allaboutblanks.com
  • Embroidery blank bibs from Buy Buy Baby

Then the bibs were embroidered:

Interestingly enough, all of these burp cloths and bibs wash well and release all stains. Not a single one of them has stains after going through a warm water wash with environmentally-friendly detergent.

The better burp cloths are the white ones with velour on one side and terry loops on the other. They look nicer and wear better.

A couple of designs (the x-ray birdie and the unicorn club) have meanings within the family. The rest were just for fun.

These are gorgeous and I bet when your daughter uses them everyone asks where did she get them!
