Vogue 1102
Green Linen Jacquard Dress
I've been wanting to make this dress for a while, ever since I spotted the fabric at the now-closed Waechter's Fine Fabrics in Asheville, NC. It was a UFO for a while as the hem hung out (bias cut) but now it's done, and I'm wearing this evening to a wedding and reception with dinner and dancing. Accessorized with green heels, some gold jewelry and perhaps a shawl, depending on how cool it is. Otherwise, the dress will speak for itself.
And who doesn't love a big bow on a party dress:
The pattern is Vogue 1102, an ABO design:
I made very few modifications:
1. Raised the back scoop up enough so I could wear a bra with the center back pulled down with one of those center-back-bra-pulling-down thingies. Basically it's a loop attached to a waist stay that makes the back of the bra "V" out of the way.
2. Underlined the dress with black silk organza to hopefully discourage some of the wrinkling that the linen is bound to want to do.
3. Lined the bow and the dress with a wild print silk charmeuse from my stash. I had to line the bow because I ran out of fabric, doggone it.

Kathryn, you will look beautiful in your new green jacquard linen party dress. I like everything about your creation and know you will look wonderful twirling around the dancefloor.
