Welcome Baby Vivienne Katherine!
for you,
A Baby Shark Bunting

On October 6, our family was increased by one--a baby girl, born to my daughter and her husband. They named her Vivienne Katherine.  Baby Vivienne's other grandmama's name is Catherine, and mine is Kathryn, so they blended the two names to come up with Vivienne's middle name, Katherine.

She's a beautiful baby, says this more-than-just-a-little-doting grandmama about her first grandchild.

My daughter had asked me to make a Baby Shark Bunting for her, and I grudgingly obliged. After all, what grandmama wants to see her grandbaby in the jaws of a shark even if it's made of the softest yarn?

I chose a DK weight (3) baby yarn, Bernat Baby Coordinates, a silvery boucle yarn in the Soft Grey colorway.

It takes less than one skein (388 yards) to make the shark.

I chose worsted weight yarns in red, white, and black for the rest of the shark.

So now the baby will slip inside the shark to bundle up for an outing with Mom and Dad in the stroller. Her favorite destination so far is a donut shop a couple of blocks away where Mom and Dad can indulge their baby-induced weeks of sleeplessness in major carbs and strong coffee.

Congratulations Grandma! Don't worry you will have plenty of opportunities to sew more girly type dresses over the years. I just came off a binge of back to school clothes - so believe me more little girl clothes are in your future!

BTW, she's beautiful! So glad both your daughter and little Vivienne are doing well!
